Chirstmas (turn Halloween cupcakes) *it seemed like a good idea at the time*

I was at the girlfriends last week, an amazing gorgeous, genuinely happy week. With mini to-do lists including the park and other bits. One of these included making a cake, but bare with me because it starts as thing then spirals into all sorts of different things.. So first it was a cake which quickly turned into cupcakes, - cinnamon and nutmeg flavoured with decorative icing. We wanted to make it into candy cane looking, but it went terribly wrong. However, they did taste good! Really good..

Ingredients for Christmas themed cupcakes What the prepping looked like - messy but also organised

♡ Preheat the oven to 160 degrees
♡ 125g of softened butter
♡ 200g caster sugar (we've sweet tooth's, haha)
♡ 2 Eggs♡ Half a pint of milk
♡ 110g plain flour
♡ 2 heaped table spoons of baking powder
♡ Several heaps of ground Nutmeg and ground Cinnamon

The process continues so after putting all of these in, sifting the flour and mixing it until there was plenty of air in, I left it in the fridge for a while so set and let it chill. Roughly half an hour later, we put them in the cases Jessica has at home, we started with 6 but it expanded to more as we did not realise the extent of mixture we would make, that always seems to be the case? Why is this?! So in the oven they went for what turned out to be 30 mins. Rising well, then playing will Billie our little Staff/lab cross, it turned about 10 past midnight and they were done!

After they cooled

Now to decorate! Red food colour mixed with a little icing sugar, plus icing sugar (the one with water..) Small edible pearls for the 'frosted' effect. And plus cinnamon sticks to add it on top. So the interesting part came for the decoration, as I said previously it was meant to be candy cane swirls, but it actually turned out to be half Halloween and half Christmas, really sort of odd looking, a lot of them you actually have to explain it.. Due to the fact they were really, I'm gonna say, abstract.
This is half the process, messy, we were listening to glee most of the time and Jessica is currently working on her

Christmas themed one.. there were also marshmallows for a snow effect? I don't know. The finished products ♡ So here we go! the end products, I think you can tell the only food colouring we had was clearly red.. and the resources we had, but cut us some slack it was by this point 1am, we were feeling creative.. maybe it didn't turn out as expected.. I shall start from the middle, up and clockwise. Middle: a ghost! Jesse even added the (marshmallow) moon, with a cinnamon stick bird. Up one, (pink casing) my Christmas one, that was the first one it went o k a y, but I lost my patience because it didn't look good enough so I made some sort of cute bonfire of cuteness.. Blue casing with Jessica's star theme, the next two were my cute pink looking ish ones, either with loads of icing or none at all clearly. You then have my scary face.. it's been stabbed in the head. Then you have a bludgeoned wound of death. Lastly you have Jessica's diseased skin.. Like I said, a lot of description needed.. Maybe not the most visually attractive cupcakes, but they tasted really good! The mixture was light and fluffy and we put enough ground seasons in it to taste it well. It was a successful evening/morning. I know I usually don't do food related posts, and I am a fashion blogger. But when we started making these, I couldn't help myself. I hope you guys enjoyed! With all of my posts, I tend to do half blogging half on my phone, so I do apologise, but you guys understand! Thanks for reading, do leave comments as I love to hear from you guys!
